Here are a few favorite books from our recent library visits.

My Name is Elizabeth by Annika Dunklee & Matthew Forsythe

For some reason this book about names and nicknames resonated with my kindergartener. Great illustrations.

Earth to Stella by Simon Puttock & illustrated by Philip Hopman

This is a sweet story about a daughter and father.

Ivy & Bean by Annie Barrows & Sophie Blackall

My daughter and I are sad that we have finished reading the Ivy and Bean chapter book series. I asked my daughter why she likes these books so much and she said she loved seeing all the silly things they make up. And she loves that they make her laugh. Me too. I also love how Ivy & Bean are distinct characters and such loyal friends.

My 8-year-old son devoured these two graphic historical stories, Big Bad Ironclad & One Dead Spy, both by Nathan Hale. He learned a lot about the Civil and the Revolutionary Wars.

A Street Through Time: A 12,000-year Walk Through History by Steve Noon

This is a great visual history of a street through the ages.

The 3-2-3 Detective Agency: The Disappearance of Dave Warthog by Fiona Robinson

My 8-year-old son enjoyed this book so much he insisted that we read it to our 5 year old.
